Why does Fernando Rodney keep killing angels :(

Veteran closing pitcher and known tilted-hat-wearer Fernando Rodney is pretty good at saving baseball games. Unfortunately, when he finally does get that last batter out, to celebrate he draws an imaginary arrow from an imaginary quiver and pantomimes launching it over the gates of Heaven and into the velvet essence of an angel’s ghostly sternum.

Why do you want to kill so many winged heroes, Fernando Rodney?

Rodney got his first save at Target Field as a Twin tonight, in a 4-2 win over the Seattle Mariners. It was a joyous occasion for us mortals, but above us on a higher plane, there was much grief and sorrow.

Every time Fernando Rodney gets a save, an angel loses its wings and also its life. :(
